Artist's Description

The vertical placement of the canvas and the color progression from heavy vibration hues
at its baseupward towards those of a refined range, relate to energy centers in our bodies
known as Chakras.

Each Chakra emanates colored light expressing it's True Nature. The lower Chakras are positioned in the bottom half of the torso and are symbolized by denser vibration, warm hues in the red spectrum and associated with primal survival needs. The higher chakras hold positions in the upper body, corresponding to finer vibration, cooler colors inthe blue
spectrum and align with the more evolved needs of spiritual connectivity.

The progression and position of colors on the canvas, points towards the potential available to human beings whom, upon awakening, may participate with intentionin the process of transformation from lower to higher, more expansive states of Consciousness.

About Deborah Ann Good

Deborah Ann Good

Deborah Ann Good holds a BFA and participated in graduate studies in painting at San Francisco State University. Deborah's abstract paintings are the result of her studies in Qigong spontaneous movement and her creek photographs are influenced by composer John Cage's philosophy of using chance procedures to eliminate artistic preferences in his work. Her illustrations and figurative paintings are informed by her studies in design, color, symbolism, art history, Zen Buddhism, perennial philosophy, a fascination with astronomical images and an abiding interest in metaphysics. Deborah left a career as an art director to pursue her interest in painting, drawing, photography and meditation.
